Engine forbidden games have their own charm. Many players are getting increasingly uncomfortable with engine allowed correspondence chess and are showinng interest in no-engine games.

For the first time in Engine-Forbidden Championships we have super-strong players like T.Pavan Kumar and Tanmmay Srinath participating. Nilesh Vyas, Pervez Mandviwala, Rakesh Agrawal, Amit Dutta are also experienced players in Engine-Allowed CC. So, all in all, with so many worthwhile players participating, it is going too be a strongly contested fight.

Early Results

Surprisingly, within only about two months from the Start Date (17-07-2022) we already have 33 completed games. Amiit Dutta seems to be very irregular and has lost many games by default within 10 moves. Venugopal Linga (6 losses, 3 wins) and B.S.Dutt (7 losses, 2 wins) have played played their games at a very fast pace with modest performance. Anjum Shafiq Khan (6 losses) appears to be out of his depth in the tournament.

Leading

At the top of the table, Yellapu Pandavakrishna and Nileshkumar J. Vyas lead with 6 points. The top contenders, T.Pavan Kumar and Tanmay Srinath do not yet have many finished games.

A Position

Nilesh Vyas won over Pandavakrishna in 50 moves, in a game finished in 40 days!

In this position Pandavakrishna played 35.Qxb7? and Nilesh Vyas finished the game in fine style as below. Most chess players enjoy attack, but the art of defence is equally important. In the diagram position, can you put your defensive skills to the task and find a move for White to save the game (do not use an engine).

We once again remind players to stay away from chess engines while analysing their games in engine forbidden tournaments.
