AIWCF CHAMPIONSHIP

The Engine Allowed AIWCF Championship, 1521 has only 4 unfinished games. The next AIWCF Championship, 1522 will be announced soon. This time, it will be played on ICCF server in order to meet with compliance issues.

COMPACT EMAIL NOTIFICATIONS

With more tournaments in progress, the number of email notifications to be sent by the server increased quite a lot. Unfortunately our service provider restricts the number of of emails that can be sent. It was becoming difficult to deal with the email volume. The delivery of emails was slowing down.

To resolve this problem, it was decided to send compact email notifications clubbing together the moves sent by several opponents. A typical email notification now looks like this:

Anil Anand moves 14...a6 in 4781 (3 vs. 1)

Rakesh Agrawal moves 12...Bxc6 in 4783 (3 vs. 1)
Ravi Kumar moves 13...bxc6 in 4784 (3 vs. 1)
Alok Saxena moves 55.h6 in 4751 (4 vs. 1)

This combines notice of 7 opponents' replies in one email. This not only reduces the volume of emails, but also results in less clutter in the player's inbox. Such notifications give an idea of pending moves without detailed game scores and time stamps.

Intial feedback indicated that our players are happy with this new format. For members who are playing several games and regularly login, email notifications are not necessary. We urge such players to turn off email notifications.

AIWCF TRAINING PROGRAM GETS UNDERWAY

AIWCF has started conducting online training for beginners. If you are a beginner level player, first take the online quiz to determine your current level of skill and knowledge. Then register for online training for the month that you are free. The charges are Rs. 1500/-. There will be 4 online classes. You can select suitable dates/times as per your convenience.
