Editor Speaks

The first issue of AICCF Bulletin 2023 is presented herewith. Hope that it lives up to your expectations and meets the high standard that is expected of us.

This edition has an Auto-Chess-O-Graphy on Amit Kumar Sharma.

J. Nagesh presents a short article on Paul Keres, one of the greatest players in both the Over-the-Board (OTB) and Correspondence Chess (CC) arena for several decades in the last century.

K.V. Lakshminarayana (KVLN) has provided an intimate account of the Chennai Olympiad 2022 where he was present as a volunteer.

An interesting feature of this issue is the return of Corrchegimmick, this time an interesting position given by KVLN from an actual game played in the Chennai Olympiad last year.

In Chess Tidbits, several important chess events since the last issue are provided such as the forthcoming World championship 2023 match between Ding Liren and Nepomniachtchi, Women’s Grand Prix, World Junior championship, Gashimov Memorial, Tata Steel, Disabled World Team championship, Airthings Masters and just-concluded WR Chess Masters at Dusseldorf. This might be of interest to the chess enthusiasts and discerning Readers.

Readers playing in ICCF tournaments are advised to go thru Dr. Alok Saxena’s article on ETL.

Looking forward to your comments and wishing our Readers a very Happy New year 2023.

Sincerely Yours,
Anil Anand
