Although the Engine Forbidden Championship, C002 was started at almost the same time as the Engine Allowed Championship, 1518, the former is proceeding at a much faster pace. Playing without engines, obviously allows players to make their moves much faster.
The best performance so far is that of Anuj Gupta with a 92.9% performance of 6.5 from 7 games. Anil Anand (performance 90.0%) is the highest scorer with 9 points (+8, =2, -0). A.Chatterjee with 6 points, has 5 wins and two draws. Dr K.Prabhakar is making a comeback to CC after long. He has scored 3 wins and two draws, but lost against Anil Anand.
It appears likely that the contest for the top 3 places will be among Anuj Gupta, Anil Anand, A.Chatterjee and K.Prabhakar. It is going to be a tough fight and the engine forbidden format makes the games all that more interesting!
We give below the decisive game Dr K.Prabhakar - Anil Anand:
