ICCF CONGRESS

The Scottish Correspondence Chess Federation put in an enormous effort into planning the 2020 Congress. Though the Covid pandemic is still persisting we are hoping for the return of normalcy. It is still hoped that we can entertain a face-to-face Congress in Scotland in 2021. The Executive Board of ICCF is also exploring several virtual hosting options should there be difficulties with a face-to-face Congress with travel of participants from around the world.

MID-TERM ELECTION

After the voluntary departure of Jan Vosselman as Finance Director, ICCF conducted a mid-term election for a replacement. With a unanimous vote, Dr. Ferdinand Burmeister is now the new finance director and member of the ICCF Executive Board. We wish to thank Mr. Vosselman for his contribution.

KEY DECISIONS

2019-019 [CONFLICT]: Allowing Claims Based on the 7-Piece Endgame Tablebase
Tablebase claims for positions with seven pieces or fewer is now implemented on ICCF server in accordance with Proposal 2019-019. Because of the concerns about redundancy, the ICCF Marketing Director reached an agreement with Lichess to use their tablebase server in addition to the service provided by Convekta, so ICCF server can now process claims from one of two independent and redundant sources.

2019-022 [CONFLICT]: Eliminate Gender Specific Events
Now that gender specific events have been eliminated, information about player’s gender is no longer stored in the server database

In the ICCF international title event ICCF Olympiad 22 Preliminaries - Section 4 Board 4 the Mr. Lalit Kapoor with ICCF ID 280113 has scored enough points to achieve a norm for ICCF-IM. One of his win form this tournament is given below:
