Terms and Conditions

In brief

The Management Committee reserves the right to refuse membership to any applicant without assigning any reason thereof.
Players must follow the playing rules and guidelines explained in the Webserver Guide.
If the Management Committee decides that a player has behaved unethically (see Webserver Guide for further information), membership can be suspended (for a period depending on severity of the case).
Players who join on 2 years membership basis must take care to renew their membership in time so that their ongoing games can continue.

Services offered by AIWCF

  1. AIWCF accepts membership for 2 years or for life. Members can join and play in an unlimited number of tournaments. AIWCF provides a webserver and the software for playing web based correspondence chess. AIWCF recovers the cost of maintaining the server and software development from the membership fees and does not seek to make any profit. AIWCF is for hobby and pastime and is not intended to be a profit making organisation.
  2. AIWCF maintains two separate rating systems (for engine allowed and engine forbidden play).
  3. AIWCF organises two separate Championships (for engine allowed and engine forbidden play).
  4. For players from India, AIWCF represents India as a Member Federation of International Correspondence Chess Federation (ICCF). AIWCF expedites playing in ICCF and provides advice on joining ICCF events to obtain higher ratings and ICCF titles. AIWCF organises Friendly International Matches against other Member Federations of ICCF. Selected members may represent India in these events. AIWCF represents India in Africa Asia Zone-4 of ICCF and members can participate in ICCF Zone-4 events.
  5. AIWCF expedites payment of ICCF tournament fees. India enjoys 50% discounted rates in ICCF events. The amount in rupee currency can be transferrred to AIWCF and we take care of sending the payment to ICCF.
  6. Members who are not Indian Nationals can participate in all tournaments including Championships, however they cannot be part of Indian Teams in ICCF events. For all ICCF activities they may interact directly with ICCF or through their own National Federation.

Eligibility

Age is no bar, so long as the member understands and can play chess. Minor players maybe supervised in computer use by a parent, guardian or coach. AIWCF reserves the right to refuse membership to any applicant without assigning any reason thereof. AIWCF in some circumstances may suspend a member for a limited period after an offence as set out in the Webserver Guide.

Disputes

Dispute over the result of a game in rare instances of software failure or server outage maybe presented to any member of the Management Committee (see Contact us page). The decision of the Management Committee will be binding in any dispute.
